Non-Surgical & Surgical Care for the Spine
Finding the right care for back or neck pain can be frustrating for patients and even for their primary care doctors. The Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth Spine and Neurosurgery Center offers our patients complete non-surgical and surgical care for the spine through collaboration among our team of leading specialists:
- Pain Management Specialists*
- Rehabilitation Services*
The role of chiropractic physicians in our spine care pathway is that of a primary spine provider. They specialize in medical triage, diagnosis and care coordination.
Chiropractic is a safe and effective treatment option that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
Chiropractic care and physical medicine is used most often to treat complaints such as back and neck pain, headaches and sciatica.
Chiropractors practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. A care plan might include education, stretching, exercise recommendations, daily activity modification and spinal manipulation.
The goal is always the development of self-care programs so patients can care for themselves.
A majority of spine problems can be managed conservatively, but if non-surgical measures have failed, you may be a candidate for surgery. Our neurosurgery team offers the most up-to-date surgical options and will work with you to develop a surgical plan tailored to you. Find more surgical information here.
