About Family Planning and Contraception
Our OB/GYN providers offer sensitive guidance as you choose which method of family planning is right for you. We will evaluate your health history and stage of life and advise you which method might best match your intentions for avoiding or perhaps eventually achieving a pregnancy.
Young women who have not yet initiated sexual activity may want to learn about their options for birth control before initiating physical intimacy. Using pelvic models and charts, the practitioner can inform you of the normal physiology of your menstrual cycle and describe the impact that different options for birth control might have on your body.
Birth control options include (but are not limited to):
- Birth Control Patch
- Contraceptive Injection
- Diaphragms
- Fertility Awareness / Natural Family Planning
- Intrauterine Devices (IUDs)
- Oral Contraceptive Pills (including progestin-only birth control pills)
- Tubal Ligation
- Vaginal Ring
