In partnership with Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton, BID Plymouth is proud to support people seeking bariatric surgery as a weight loss option. Our team can make sure you’re a good candidate for bariatric surgery. We also can help you achieve your weight loss goals after surgery. Our hospitals are accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), the highest level of accreditation possible for weight loss surgery programs.
Get Started with Bariatric Surgery
If you’re interested in bariatric surgery, the first step is to attend an information session. During this session, one of our surgeons will explain what to expect during bariatric surgery.
After completing the information session, you’ll complete a screening process. This process will help determine if you qualify for surgery. Screening for weight loss surgery can last between three and six months, depending on a number of factors. These include any insurance requirements as well as how quickly you complete each step of screening.
During screening, you’ll meet with different members of our staff. They will help make sure you meet the criteria for surgery.
Our team at BID Plymouth provides pre- and post- surgery, however the surgery itself is performed at BID Milton. Our care teams work together to ensure the best outcomes for each patient.
