Connecting to MySite via Mobile Applications
What Are APIs?
Application programming interfaces (APIs) are used by patients and healthcare providers to exchange health information. They give patients the ability to get and share important health information through a mobile phone application of their choosing, such as the Apple Health app. APIs can connect your health information from multiple healthcare providers into one location.
How Do I Use an API?
To request an API to link to an application email the Information Systems Portal Analyst at mysiteapi@bidmc.harvard.edu. Please be sure you have enrolled in the Patient Portal.
Liability
By authorizing electronic data release of your patient information to a third-party application, you assume the liability of providing your health data to the application. Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth no longer has any liability to monitor, audit, or secure that data.
