Kevin Coughlin Named President and CEO of BID-Plymouth
Kevin Coughlin – a health care executive with more than 25 years of experience across community hospitals, academic medical centers and health care systems – has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth (BID-Plymouth).Coughlin, who joined BID-Plymouth in 2014 as Senior Vice President of System Development, has served as Interim President and CEO since October 2016. His appointment as President and CEO is effective Monday, June 12, 2017.
As Senior Vice President at BID-Plymouth, Coughlin led the hospital’s growth strategy, as well as the hospital’s network of 300 physicians and ambulatory services. Under his leadership, employed physician revenue grew more than twofold over three years, which was instrumental to advancing the hospital’s strong financial footing. Coughlin was also instrumental in working with the hospital’s medical staff to develop and launch a Hospital-Physician Compact to further advance the organization.
Previously, Coughlin served as Senior Vice President at Elliott Health System based in Manchester,New Hampshire, where he oversaw select hospital services, including process improvement, as well as an ambulatory network with more than 500,000 outpatient visits annually. He has also held leadership positions at Boston Medical Center’s Faculty Practice Foundation and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
