Chiropractic is a safe and effective option that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractic care and physical medicine is used most often to treat complaints such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and sciatica.

Doctors of chiropractic—often referred to as chiropractors or chiropractic physician—practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis, and treatment. A care plan might include education, stretching, exercise recommendations, daily activity modification, and spinal manipulation.

The goal is always the development of self-care programs so patients can care for themselves.

Pain Management
The Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth Pain Management Center offers a wide variety of progressive treatment options for any type of pain that does not respond to conventional therapy.

Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth is happy to offer a relatively new type of minimally invasive neurosurgery known as kyphoplasty.

Kyphoplasty involves two tiny incisions in the back, one on each side of the affected vertebra, while the patient is under general anesthesia. Assisted by an x-ray technician and using fluoroscopy as a guide, the surgeon uses a needle to precisely enter the vertebra where a balloon is inserted and inflated, restoring the broken vertebra as closely as possible to its original height.

The entire procedure is repeated on the other side of the same vertebra.

The balloons are deflated and a special type of medical resin, similar to epoxy, is injected into the space left by the balloons. The tiny incisions are closed with butterfly bandages, no stitches! By the time the patient is back in the recovery room and awake, the resin has hardened and the intense pain is gone. The patient stays overnight and goes home the next day to resume their lives.

Spinal Surgery
Kyphoplasty is one type of spinal surgery. Another type involves a bone graft to help relieve pain caused by a spinal fracture or chronic condition.

Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy
Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth physical therapy and occupational therapy is an integral part of Jordan Spine Care. Consistent with all components of Jordan Spine Care, our physical therapists will evaluate your condition on a case by case basis and create a care plan based on your needs or, if necessary, refer you to another member of our group who can best return you to pre injury health. All of our team members focus on the patients needs and what is in their best interest.

Our Rehabilitation group is also expert in post surgical knee, hip, shoulder and back surgery. Our Occupational therapists are experts in hand, wrist and elbow injuries including carpal tunnel.
