Have You Had the Conversation Yet?
Knowing and respecting what you and your loved ones want
Did you know that 60% of people say that making sure their family is not burdened by tough decisions is “extremely important”? At the same time, according to the California HealthCare Foundation, 56% have not communicated their end-of-life wishes.
Communicating such wishes to loves ones is not easy. It is, however, vitally important.
To help start the conversation with one’s family, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Director of the Ethics Program, Director of the Palliative Care Program and Harvard Medical School Professor Dr. Lachlan Forrow will present “Have you had the conversation yet?” on Thursday, October 15, 2015. The discussion will help one to think about how to express their end of life living and care conditions as well as how to approach a loved one about the topic.
Have you had the conversation yet? will take place on October 15, 2015 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, Mass., and is free and open to the public. To register, call 508-210-5911.
The event is brought to you by the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth Patient & Family Advisory Council, BID-Plymouth, Cranberry Hospice, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
