  • those who care for our patients with skill and compassion,
  • those who give of themselves to lead and govern our Hospital, with commitment and vision, and
  • those whose generous and faithful charitable gifts of time and talent and resource sustain us.

“On behalf of all of us at Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth, most especially our patients, I sincerely thank each and every donor for helping us make Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth extraordinary!” Cynthia Outhouse

From the $20,000 donation over 100 years ago by our namesake benefactor, Eben Jordan, Jr., to the millions of dollars our donors have given since, philanthropy continues to shape Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth. Cranberry Hospice, now a department of the Hospital, relies, as it has for more than a quarter century, on philanthropic support as well.

When you visit Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth, the presence of philanthropy is evident with the names of our donors inscribed on wall murals and plaques, heartwarming tributes in our brick gardens, and the many programs and services, dedicated to thoughtful and generous donors. Our Cancer Center and Gift Shop, both named for our Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth Club, reflect the selfless work and contributions of Club members, still so generous over more than a century.

Our Eben Jordan Legacy Society mural, newly installed in our PIDC Atrium, proudly recognizes forever gifts, the bequests, perpetual trusts and endowed gifts and charitable gift annuities, made during our first, and now second century of caring. Traditionally, these types of gifts have been thought of as gifts individuals make near the end of their lifetimes. While many do involve bequests and estate giving, a legacy gift can be established at any age and managed, with your guidance and our stewardship, over time. We then have, and very much appreciate, the opportunity to get to know and thank you personally for your contribution.

To acquaint you further with our community hospital and the vital role of charitable giving, I invite you to read recent issues of our annual report of philanthropy, The Power of Your Gift, and our newsletters, Focus on Philanthropy and Hospice Matters, which we have posted here.

Most importantly, please know your investment in Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth and in the health and well being of our community means everything to us and we do not take a single gift for granted. We cherish our relationship with our donors and vow to continually earn your trust, spend your donated dollars wisely, and keep you closely apprised with ongoing dialogue and regular updates of hospital activities and plans.

On behalf of all of us at Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth, most especially our patients, I sincerely thank each and every donor for helping us make Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth extraordinary!
