Since becoming part of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center family of hospitals, BID-Plymouth has seen a substantial increase in patient volume over the last three years. During this time, the inpatient volume has grown more than 28% and is one of the fastest growing community hospitals in Massachusetts.
To keep up with the continuing growth, BID-Plymouth recently added 10 new single patient rooms. A new color scheme, additional hand rails and family space as well as energy-efficient windows and lighting are just some of the upgrades that are now setting the standard for inpatient rooms at BID-Plymouth.
“Throughout the entire project we were focused on setting standards that we could then replicate in our East building which was built more than 50 years ago,” says Senior Director of Facilities Mark Tarlton “this construction improvement project was really a model of how we could do things to better serve the patients and allow the caregivers to better serve those patients.”
