Endowed Named Funds

Any individual, family, or organization can create and name an endowed fund that will establish a permanent bond between the donor and Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth.  Through an endowed fund, the donor transfers assets to Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth that are then carefully managed and preserved in perpetuity to provide annual income to support an area of the hospital selected by the donor.  Endowed funds can provide support for projects, programs, education, lecture series, capital projects and much more.

We are privileged and happy to work with donors to establish, name and build an endowed fund; additional gifts may be added to an endowed fund at any time. The minimum amount to establish a endowed named fund is $25,000.  However, lesser amounts will be recognized to build an endowed named fund within a reasonable period of time.

People often choose to make annual gifts to the endowed fund to mark special occasions such as a birthday, anniversary or holiday.  Creating a bequest or making a life income gift is another way to augment and grow an endowed fund.

Your gift will keep pace with changing times.  If the purpose of your fund becomes obsolete or the area you wish to benefit ceases to exist, Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth’s Board of Directors will ensure that your fund continues in areas related to your original interests.  Whenever possible, donors will be given the opportunity to select a new direction of support.

There may be no finer way to honor someone than to establish a named endowed fund.  It becomes a lasting symbol of the bond between Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth and those who are honored, resonating into the future.

Current Use Funds

A current use named fund also provides donors with the opportunity to establish a named fund and direct gifts on an ongoing basis for a specific use.  This type of fund differs from an endowed fund in that both the income and principal of the fund are available for immediate use.

At Jordan, a current use fund can be used to fund a particular project or program and provides flexibility for spending.  It can be funded with an outright gift, ongoing annual gifts, or through a life income gift or bequest.  The minimum amount to establish a current use fund is $10,000.  Additional gifts may be added at any time.

Gifts to a current use named fund are recognized in the publications of Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth each year that the gifts are made.

Facilities-Naming Opportunities

There are a variety of naming opportunities at Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth for donors who wish to dedicate a room or fund a facility, equipment purchase or program.  These opportunities can vary, based on location and type of facility within the hospital.  There are also a variety of naming opportunities associated with Jordan's new Breast Center, scheduled to open early Fall 2009.
