Mary Chapin to oversee employed physician practices and hospital process improvements

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth (BID-Plymouth) announced that it has named Mary Chapin as Vice President of Ambulatory Services and Process Improvement. Chapin will have oversight of all BID-Plymouth employed physician practices as well as hospital-wide process improvement initiatives.

“BID-Plymouth is fortunate to add Mary Chapin to the hospital’s senior leadership team,” says BID-Plymouth president and CEO Kevin Coughlin. “Mary is a well-respected professional and we look forward to her leadership and contributions to our patients, their families, employees, physicians and volunteers.”

Chapin brings more than 30 years of experience in nursing and administrative operations with physician practices. Previously, she was the Chief Administrative Officer for the Faculty Practice Foundation at Boston Medical Center. During her tenure at Boston Medical Center, Mary had oversight of governance, strategic planning, and organizational development for the Faculty Practice Foundation. Prior to her role at Boston Medical Center, Mary held various inpatient and outpatient clinical and administrative roles over a 20-year period at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Mary earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Masters in Administration from Boston College.

“As a South Shore resident, I’ve watched BID-Plymouth grow and expand its clinical services for individuals and families living in the region,” says Mary Chapin. “I now look forward to working with employees, nurses, and physicians to further enhance the outstanding services and quality of care being provided to our patients.”
