Kris McGill, MS, RPh, Receives Pharmaceutical Excellence Award
Plymouth (BID-Plymouth) is pleased to announce that Kris McGill, Director of Pharmacy, has received Pharmacist of the Year Award from the Massachusetts Society of Health-System Pharmacists. The award honors a pharmacist in a leadership role for significant contributions to the practice of pharmacy.
McGill has held numerous hospital pharmacy leadership roles during her career. For more than 30 years, she has strived to improve both operational and clinical aspects of our practice to optimize patient care. McGill’s leadership qualities have been demonstrated both in the hospital as well as in the community. Holding leadership roles in her community, church, and many other pharmaceutical societies, she has created an infectious attitude with others to provide excellent patient care.
McGill has also recently received the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Healthy Work/Healthy Home Environmental Champion Award for her work in launching the Pharmaceutical Take-Back Program at BID-Plymouth. The award recognizes McGill’s commitment to providing a convenient location for patients and community members to dispose of personal prescriptions that are no longer needed. Creating and maintaining a successful working program speaks to McGill’s dedication to provide quality patient care and to positively impact both the environment while lessening opioid availability in the community. In 2016, the drop box collected 456 gallons of unused medication.
